4th IBF General Meeting in Beijing home > IBF News >

(11 March 2011) The 4th IBF General Meeting was successfully held in Beijing with 21 representatives from different parts of China.

The meeting reveiwed the historical projects IBF has undertaken in the past two years, including the founding of Binghua Hope Primary School and the pursuant Binghua Hope Award for Top 10 students of each grade in the School. Suggestions about further support to the School and using the School as a base of further exchanges between Iceland and China have also been made for further discussion among interested parties after the meeting.

The contribution and active participation of IBF members during the Icelandic Day at the Shanghai Expo was also highlighted. It was also suggested that IBF members  strengthen contacts with relevant trade promotion agencies in Iceland, e.g. the Icelandic Chinese Trade Council, to share their valuable experience with other Icelandic companies interested in doing business in/with China.

The current IBF Board shall continue for another term while a deputy Board member has been added to strengthen committment of IBF Board in facilitating the networking of IBF members. New activities to strengthen contacts and unity of IBF members were initiated for late this year.

The Icelandic Embassy in Beijing briefed the attending IBF members on the various plans to celebrate the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Iceland and China and other important matters of the common concern of Icelandic companies in China. Activie inputs of IBF members are thus called for to make those planned activities more successful.

H.E.Ambassador Kristin Adalbjorg Arnadottir hosted a reception for all IBF representatives at her residence, which is highly apprecaited by all the IBF members.
